Angelique wins Wimbledon

I haven't posted for a long time but I had to share Angelique's magnificent win having watched her play superbly at Eastbourne only a few weeks back.

Australian Open

It was worth the wait!

I am loving the Australian Open so far :-)

Huge congratulations to Andy Murray and Dan Evans on their wins and I'm thrilled to see my favourite Roger Federer back to such great form.

All paws crossed for Johanna Konta's match tomorrow.

No more tennis 😢

This time last week I was watching Andy Murray win the ATP World Tour Finals (for the first time) and retain his World No 1. spot, meaning both he and his brother Jamie end the year at the top of the ranking table in singles and doubles respectively.

I wanted to celebrate with a Snoopy-style happy dance but after two record-breaking matches against Nishikori and Raonic - the longest ever best-of-three set matches at an ATP final - earlier in the week I was almost as tired as Andy must have been. (Too tired even to blog!)

I can't quite believe there's no more tennis coverage now in 2016 so I'm looking back to this time last year instead.

ATP World Finals

While Barnaby and Morris were helping to make the Christmas Cake I was watching Novak Djokovic and Dominic Thiem at the ATP World Finals.

The first set was particularly exciting. Thiem had never won a set against Djokovic but he did this time – after a very edgy tiebreak.

However Djokovic eventually won in three.

I can’t wait to see Andy play tomorrow.

ATP Finals

The World ATP finals start tomorrow.

Though I’m sad Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal aren’t playing this year I’m really looking forward to seeing Andy Murray

I’ve got all my paws crossed he retains his No. 1 spot.

Andy wins

Hurrah! Andy won in Paris. The first time he’s won that tournament and his EIGHTH Masters title of the year as well as winning Wimbledon and retaining his Olympic crown.

What a fantastic year he’s having.

Andy Murray is No. 1

He’s done it.  Andy Murray is World No. 1.

It's a bit of a shame that he had a walkover to the Paris Masters final because Milos Raonic was injured but still fantastic news.

Wishing him all the best for his upcoming match against John Isner, himself a record breaker.  Who can forget the world’s longest tennis match completed over three days!
